History
The idea behind FIDgate was born in 2023 from a clear opportunity—too many high-potential renewable energy projects were leaving value on the table due to inefficiencies in financial modeling and project design.
Juan Roldán, an engineer and PV solar specialist, spent years working in utility-scale solar development across different markets. He saw first-hand how project teams struggled to optimize project configurations while navigating complex financial and technical constraints. The industry needed a data-driven, automated approach to decision-making—one that could optimize projects holistically.
To bring this vision to life, Juan teamed up with his first boss in Denmark—an experienced executive in renewable energy—and former university colleagues specializing in computational modeling and optimization. Their combined expertise in solar finance, advanced algorithms, and energy system engineering laid the foundation for FIDgate.
The vision for FIDgate became clear:

Juan has 7+ years of experience optimizing renewable energy projects, bridging finance and engineering to maximize project value. He has supported major investors, including Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and European Energy, in the development and optimization of multi-gigawatt solar, storage, and P-t-X projects. Previously, he worked as a project manager and consultant, providing strategic technical and financial guidance for projects totaling over 5 GW.

His strategic mindset and fluent communication style drive FIDgate's commercial growth and ecosystem partnerships.
