History
The idea behind FIDgate was born in 2023 from a clear opportunity—too many high-potential renewable energy projects were leaving value on the table due to inefficiencies in financial modeling and project design.
Juan Roldán, an engineer and PV solar specialist, spent years working in utility-scale solar development across different markets. He saw first-hand how project teams struggled to optimize project configurations while navigating complex financial and technical constraints. The industry needed a data-driven, automated approach to decision-making—one that could optimize projects holistically.
To bring this vision to life, he leveraged his network within the renewable energy industry and partnered with former university colleagues with deep expertise in computational modeling and optimization. Together, they combined hands-on industry experience with advanced algorithmic capabilities, laying the foundation for FIDgate as a specialized platform for optimizing solar, wind, and energy storage investments.

Previously, he worked as a project manager and consultant, providing strategic technical and financial guidance for projects totaling over 5 GW.
