The FIDgate Journey
The Beginning
FIDgate was founded in Berlin by former energy project developers who recognised the integral role that hybrid assets and storage would play in grid decarbonisation. They understood that advanced software was the only way project modelling could scale while providing the high level of accuracy required to navigate complex technical and financial constraints. Having seen projects leave value on the table due to manual trial-and-error, they committed to building a data-driven alternative to traditional "black-box" solutions.

We empower energy developers and IPPs to maximise the total lifetime value of solar, wind, and storage projects during the critical planning phase. Our high-fidelity optimisation engine allows our partners to de-risk their capital and establish a bespoke, defensible investment case. By pinpointing the most profitable project configurations, we ensure our clients can move toward a successful Financial Investment Decision (FID) with absolute certainty.

Our Story
Our History & A Growing Team
FIDgate was born in 2023 from a clear problem: too many high-potential renewable energy projects were leaving value on the table due to inefficiencies in financial modelling and project design. Juan Roldán, an engineer and PV solar specialist with years of experience in utility-scale development, saw first-hand how teams struggled to optimise project configurations while navigating complex technical and financial constraints.
Recognising that the industry required a data-driven, automated approach to holistic decision-making, he partnered with Joe, a BESS and project finance expert, plus a team of former university colleagues with deep expertise in computational modelling and technology scaling.
They committed to building a solution that was not only software-backed and cost-effective but also diverged from typical "black-box" solutions. By integrating with teams' priorities and workflows, they developed FIDgate's flexible, bespoke simulation platform to replace trial-and-error with real-time scenario optimisation.
