How FIDgate helped a Baltic IPP unlock €33M in hybrid project value

A leading Baltic independent power producer, experienced in managing more than 500 MW of hybrid assets, faced a familiar problem: not a lack of expertise, but a lack of workflow integration.

Its technical, storage and commercial teams all understood their part of the development process. But hybrid design decisions were still moving through separate models, separate assumptions and separate handoffs. PV layout was being developed in one place, BESS sizing in another, and dispatch and revenue logic later in the process. The result was a slow and fragmented design loop that made it difficult to test the full design space with confidence.

FIDgate replaced that fragmented process with a unified optimisation workflow, allowing the client to evaluate PV configuration, BESS sizing and dispatch strategy together rather than sequentially. That shift did more than save time. It changed the quality of the decisions being made.

For this project, the outcome was material: up to €33 million of NPV uplift and roughly 40 to 50 basis points of IRR improvement, depending on the scenario explored.
